Abstract: | There are different paradigms of information processing and data management that exist in the field of computer science. These models have emerged basing on the technology and scenario available at the time. These computing models also evolve as time goes taking in better research findings to fine tune their performance technically. Parallel processing and distributed computing have come a long way compared to the time of single processor architecture or batch processing style. From a single user based operating system and processor that were geographically confined, the current technologies of processing have made computing possible in a virtual world. The limits of place and time do not confine processing any more. The emerging trends in distributed computing, grid computing, virtual computing and cloud computing are architectures where resources, technologies and applications are available in a virtualized set up. These emerging models of computing have realized portability and mobility of data processing on the go, while also keeping the efficiency and security of the architecture at best. The emerging model of Cloud Computing Architecture is an area of study in this research. The Cloud Architecture is a pool of virtualized processors, resources and services that offers computing power and technology to maximum users. The efficiency of such model will far depend up on the processing style used, than merely on the architectural set up that underlies the model. This research attempts to achieve a higher degree of data processing in the cloud by optimizing the parameters of process time, resource utilization, resource sharing and minimising processor idle time in the cloud. v In order to achieve the proposed optimality, the methodology is to incorporate the Event Driven Architecture mode of computing into the cloud. This model of processing works on a publish-subscribe pattern, listening and attending to every request within the system. As the Cloud is reservoir of services, the event driven style of computing is itself brought into the architecture as a service of processing. The Event Driven Architecture incorporated over the Cloud offers its process as a service. Experimental data is tried and tested to prove the above proposition. In such a pattern, all the processing tasks are distributed to the virtual processors and carried out, using also the resources that are idle in the event driven pattern. This leads towards the optimum utilization of the virtual processors and related resources as a Service in the cloud. The Cloud adopts the virtual processors as a service to the applications or users that are in demand. This research work is an attempt to realize the Event Driven Architecture as a Service for the Cloud. newline |
