Abstract: | Cloud computing is gradually occupying the front stage and its core concepts appear to be sinking in all the fields including agricultural education. Evaluation being an important process of education, a preliminary study was conducted on the use of cloud in relevance to online evaluation. We worked on the feasibility and relevance of cloud based online evaluation system which was established in a private cloud and highlights the user acceptance of this cloud based evaluation system in quantified terms. Cloud was found to be highly acceptable for students with minimal knowledge in technical area of computer science. The private cloud-based educational model is a relatively new idea in terms of adoption. The cloud infrastructure is well accepted by students and it is proven the cloud enabled evaluation system will save the resources of teachers and students. When we calculate the TCO things implementing a private cloud is a viable option for educational organizations rather than going for a physical machines. Many people see that cost reduction is no longer the primary driver when we consider the flexibility afforded by cloud computing. Educational institutions can take advantage of cloud applications to provide students and lecturers a dynamic environment by which quality as well productivity of learning and evaluation system will grow. Database applications running on individual physical servers represent a large consolidation opportunity. Database workloads are often provisioned on systems with much higher CPU and memory configurations than required by their average utilization. This is to ensure that there will be sufficient capacity for peak portions of the workload and to allow for future growth. newline newline newline newline newline |
