Abstract: Nowadays, cancer is a leading cause of human death worldwide, newlineincidence accounts for approximately 17 million cases annually reported newlineby the World Health Organization (WHO). In that, skin cancer afflicts 2-3 newlinemillion people every year throughout the world. According to the world newlinecancer report, skin cancer contributes approximately 30% of all newly newlinediagnosed cancers in the world and solar ultraviolet radiation is the newlineestablished cause of 90% of all skin cancers. Cancer chemoprevention is newlinethe use of natural compounds to prevent, stop, or reverse the process of newlinecarcinogenesis. It is now accepted that cancer chemoprevention is not only newlinean essential approach to control cancer but also a quality of life issue. It newlinemakes more sense to prevent cancer at its earliest stages by using newlinelow-toxic chemicals than to wait until-the disease has reached its final newlinestages, where it becomes necessary to use more toxic drugs. Dietary newlinemonoterpenes were found to be helpful, both in prevention and therapy of newlinecancer. Carvones are cyclic, unsaturated monoterpene ketones found in the newlineessential oils of many medicinal and aromatic plants (caraway, dill and newlinespearmint) used in several food items. In that, D-carvone is a one well newlineknown for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, antihypertensive, newlineantihyperlipidemic effect. Carvone and its related compounds were proved newlineto be a class of potential chemopreventive agents, since the newlineanticarcinogenic activity is correlated with the ability to induce the activity newlineof detoxifying enzymes. The and#945;,and#946;-unsaturated ketone system in carvone is, newlineapparently, responsible for the high enzyme-inducing activity. In the newlinecurrent report we have proved the anti cancer effect of D-carvone on newlineexperimental procedure including lipid peroxidation, antioxidants, newlinedetoxifying agents, inflammatory, proliferation, apoptosis and angiogenesis newlinemarkers using biochemical, histopathology, western blotting, ELISA, newlineimmunohistochemistry, methods to prove its anticancer nature newline
