Abstract: newline2 newline newlineBottom sediments from thirteen transects chiefly inspected at newline newlineprofundity shapes of 30, 100 and 200m along the western mainland newline newlineedge of India, falling in two seaward areas from Dwaraka to Goa and newline newlineCape Comorin to Goa were investigated for calcium carbonate, major newline newlinecomponents in silicate division, follow and extraordinary earth newline newlinecomponents in the mass division, and carbon and nitrogen isotopes in newline newlinenatural matter to grasp the provenance of sediments, weathering newline newlineexamples in the source ranges and nature of natural matter. Major newline newlinecomponents, for example Si, Ti, Mg and segregation plots including newline newlinealkalies and silica have demonstrated an unique north-south newline newlinecommonplace nature with the source marks indicating at Deccan newline newlinebasalt for sediments in north (from Dwaraka to Goa) and gneisses and newline newlinegranulites of South India in south. Shale standardized REE designs newline newlineand REE content infer extra neighborhood sources mostly in the newline newlinesouthwest coast of India.
