Anabolic steroids are derivatives of testosterone with increased newlineanabolic effects and reduced virilizing effects. They promote protein newlineanabolism. This is manifested clinically by increase in the muscle mass and newlinebody weight. newlineJohn Ziegler (1950) an American scientist invented a new form of newlinetestosterone, which enabled the sportsmen and body builders to withstand newlineany amount of physical stress and strain. The drug was named as Dianabol. newlineIts chemical composition was 17 alpha-methyl-17 bela -hydroxy androsta -1, 4 newlinedien-3 one. Dianabol is the paradigm for all steroids. His discovery had newlineconsiderable merit in the field of regenerative therapy. He realized that newlinebesides its ability to increase strength and muscle growth, it also generated newlinean elevated sense of well being . It also prevented osteoporosis, anemia and newlinedegeneration due to ravages of cancer. Ziegler said that continued dosage newlinewithout allowing the liver functions to normalize can result in serious damage. newlineUnfortunately the magical properties of Dianabol had already spread newlinelike wild fire and the abuse had begun. Everyone from college athletes to high newlineschool students who wanted to build bigger biceps was using steroids. Body newlinebuilding fans reached enthusiastically to the new generation. The dosages newlinerose still higher, blood pressure levels that were staggeringly elevated newlinebecame common. Many persons became impotent, enraged and grew newlineincreasingly violent due to the enormity of androgen levels in their blood newlinestream.Anabolic steroids are more than of 30 types. They work by changing newlinethe body s chemistry in ways that reduce its usual need for rest after exertion. newlineOn steroids the muscles can work day after day at a higher level without the newlineusual recovery periods. Steroids also stimulate protein synthesis in muscles newlinereleasing human growth hormone, which builds muscle. People taking newlinesteroids tend to develop more aggressive personalities, which make them newlinementally inclined to train harder. newlineDifferent athletes used the steroids by different method of delivery and newlinedrug combinationen_US
