Abstract: | Ayurveda, as a knowledge system has existed for a long time; however, it is still newlinenot being explored and developed in the country of its own origin and yet to make a newlinenational and global impact. Although at its frontiers it has already created the emerging newlineinterdisciplinary field called Ayurveda Biology , and a Golden Triangle project, an newlineinitiative of CSIR for developing pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical newlineproducts of global acceptance. A long term vision for research on Ayurveda biology newlineneeds to target and focus on specific themes of global interest like chronobiology; new newlineholistic theories in nutrition science; immunity; regenerative biology; microbiome; newlinebiology of taste; biophysics of endothermic and exothermic metabolism; newlinepharmacodynamics and kinetics of herbo-mineral formulations; metabolic effects of newlinedetoxification therapies; new theories for bio-regulation and pathogenesis; ethnoveterinary sciences; wellness science; revitalization of local health traditions and in situ conservation of wild gene pools of medicinal botanicals newline |
