Abstract: The commonly used refrigerant in unitary type airconditioners is newlineR22 and its phase out schedule in developing countries is to commence from newline2015 Many alternatives to R22 are found in published literature The M20 newlinerefrigerant mixture is one such alternative with specific advantages The M20 newlineis a refrigerant mixture of R407C R600a and R290 in the mass fraction newline801096904 respectively The M20 refrigerant mixture has characteristics newlinesimilar to those of R22 with an exception of the temperature gliding during newlinethe phase change process at a constant pressure due to its zeotropic nature In newlinethe present study experiments have been conducted in a window newline newline
