The ultimate aim of both military and commercial aviation is allweather newlineoperation To achieve this goal it should be possible to land the newlineaircraft without visual reference to the runway This can be accomplished by a newlinelanding system which will guide the aircraft down to a predetermined glide newlineslope and then at a preselected altitude reduce the rate of descent and cause newlinethe aircraft to flare out and touch down with an acceptably low rate of newlinedescent Aircraft has many flight phases but autolanding is a very challenging newlinetask among all aircraft flight phases since aircraft flies at a considerable low newlinealtitude and low speed during landing phase and any failure in this region will newlineresult in more accidents newline newlineen_US
