Abstract: Resilience is also not something that you are either born with or not. Resilience develops as people grow up and gain better thinking and self-management skills and more knowledge. Resilience also comes from supportive relations with parents, peers and others, as well as cultural beliefs and traditions that help people cope with the investable bumps in life. Resilience is found in a variety of behaviors, thoughts, and actions that can be learned and developed across the life span. Resilient people are care of the situation, their own emotional reactions and behaviour of those around them. Resilient people can maintain their control of the situation and new way tackle problems. Earlier psychological researches and findings had shown that resilient people were significantly influenced by their deprived environment. newlineThe literature in psychology indicated that very little work has been done linking resilience, wellbeing, self-esteem, satisfaction with life and hope in India in general and of Eastern Uttar Pradesh in particular. Hence, in the present study an attempt was made to investigate the pattern of resilience and well-being in the slum areas of Ghazipur. Major objectives of the study were to examine the pattern of resilience and well-being among male and female subjects to different age groups to investigate the role of resilience, gender and age on wellbeing, self-esteem, Satisfaction with Life and Hope of people in deprived environment. To find out of the relationship of resilience and well-being with self-esteem, satisfaction with life, hope and other background variables. To identify the contributing role of various predictors (Resilience, Self-esteem, Satisfaction with life and gender, age) for well-being. newlineIn the present study, the sample was restricted to the population of deprived environment. A sample of 300 participants was belonging to the age groups of 18-23, 24-29 and 30-35 years. Incidentally selected from the slam arias of Ghazipur e.g. kashamabad, sekhanpur, Jangipur, Jeeyanpur, Lakhhimpur
