Synthesis Characterization and Pharmacological Evaluation of some Nitrogen Oxygen and Sulphur containing Heterocyclic compounds

Abstract

A total of 87 derivatives, of 2-alkyl /aralkyl-6-aryl-imidazo-[2,1-b][1,3,4] -thiadiazole nucleus were synthesized as Nitrogen, Oxygen and Sulphur containing heterocyclic compounds and evaluated for newlineanticancer, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, after due characterization. Results obtained, show that, the molecule with -CHO/ -SCN at 5th and chromen-2-one moiety at 6th position had exhibited maximum cytotoxicity (SKS-63, IC50: 0.75-0.90 and#956;and#924; and SKS-80, IC50: 1.0-1.3 and#956;M). Trypan blue and MTT assay were performed, to study the proliferation rate and cell viability.
