Abstract: Low frequency oscillations are observed after disturbances in large power sys- newlinetems interconnected by weak tie-lines. Under such circumstances, lack of an ad- newlineequate system damping may result in sustained oscillations and in turn leads to newlineseparation of the system. In recent days, the development in power electronics newlineestablishes the applicability of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) con- newlinetrollers in the system. The capability of FACTS controllers for faster control of newlinenetwork conditions makes them suitable choices for system stability improvement. newlineStatic Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) is one of the essential individuals newlinefrom FACTS family. It is very capable in controlling line power and#64258;ow. Moreover, newlineSSSC is very secure to recognized resonances of the system. newlinePower system stability is one of the most important issues in the analysis of newlinepower system. In interconnected power system the heavily loaded long tie-lines newlinecould be the reason behind the diand#64256;erent stability issues. Thus, in modern power newlinesystems scenario, researchers mainly focused on designing of a suitable Power Sys- newlinetem Stabilizer (PSS). With increasing usage of FACTS devices to improve the newlinedamping of power system oscillations, proper coordination of FACTS controller newlinewith PSS is essential. As the power system is a non-linear system, the controlling newlineparameters of the FACTS devices and PSS should be estimated by considering newlinethe non-linearity of the system. When utilizing this FACTS controller and PSS newlinesimultaneously in the power system, investigating the coordination strategy and newlinepresenting an appropriate function to prepare this procedure is essential. Gener- newlineally, it can be an optimization process to get the parameters of their controllers at newlinethe same time. newlineIn this thesis, stability studies are carried out by using proposed controllers newlinelike FO MISO type PD controller, Fuzzy lead-lag controller, cascaded FO PI-PD newlinecontroller structured FACTS controller along with PSS with the help of devel- newlineoped non-linear Simulink models for a Single-Machine Inand#64257;nite
