Abstract: | Women make essential contributions to the agricultural and rural economies in all newlinedeveloping countries. Their roles vary considerably between and within regions and are newlinechanging rapidly in many parts of the world, where economic and social forces are newlinetransforming the agricultural sector. Agriculture needs manpower, if the manpower split into newlinegender wise, amazing fact is that the women contribution is greater or equal to men. Thus, it newlineis necessary to impart knowledge about new techniques of agriculture. While the role of newlinewomen in agriculture and women has been much appreciated and highlighted by newlineintellectuals and agricultural scientists, adequate attention has not been paid to the various newlineproblems faced by women involved in agriculture and women agricultural labourers. There newlinehas been very slow progress in ameliorating the working and socio- economic status of newlinewomen, especially in the rural areas. Providing adequate knowledge about new techniques newlineof agriculture can do this progress. newlineIt is possible just after knowing the skill, knowledge and attitude of the women. newlineSo it is necessary to know about the Participation of rural women in agricultural newlineoperation and home making activities . newlineThe present study was undertaken in purposively selected Ghazipur district of Uttar newlinePradesh state. Out of 16 blocks in the Ghazipur district, the block namely Saidpur was newlineselected purposively, as the majority of women are involved in agriculture operation and newlinehome making activities in this block. There are 164 villages in Saidpur block. Out of these 12 newlinevillages were selected randomly for the present study. For the present study, all those women newlineof the selected villages of the Saidpur block of the Ghazipur, who were participating in newlineagricultural operation and home making activities, were considered as respondents. 30 rural newlinewomen were selected randomly from each village making the total sample size of 360 newlinerespondents from 12 villages. newlineIt has been concluded from the study that majority of the respondents were in middle newlineage group, educated |
