dc.description.abstractThe glass series of chemical composition (20 x) LiF 10 Sb2O3 10 B2O3 60P2O5: x MnO are synthesized by conventional melt quenching method. Where x varies from 0 to 0.5 mol% with step size of 0.1 mol%. Prepared sampleswere characterized by X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersion Spectrum, Differential Thermal Analysis,Infrared Spectra, Raman Spectra, Electron Spin Resonance, Optical Absorption, Photoluminescence, DC Conductivity and Dielectric techniques.X-Ray diffractionand Surface morphology characterization reveal non-crystalline behavior of the samples. Glass forming ability was analysed by DTA studies.The compositional dependence of various structural vibrational units is analysed by Infrared and Raman Spectra studies.DTA, IR and Raman Spectra studies suggests a higher degree of disorder with in the network of glass series of samples with increasing concentration of metal ions. Physical parameters such as density, molar volume, electronegativity, optical basicity, refractive index, polaron radius and field strength areevaluated. From optical absorption characterization, band gap, Urbach energy, crystal field stabilization energy and Racah parametersareevaluated and analysed.Emissive characteristics such as transition probability and emission cross section were evaluated by Photoluminescence analysis. Electrical and dielectric behaviour of samples studied by using D.C. Conductivity and dielectric characterization and analysis.Enhanced values of D.C. Conductivity, A.C. Conductivity, temperature region of relaxation, loss tangent, density of states, and activation energy of these glass materials aresuggest that there is a induced space charge polarization andmixed conduction (both ionic and polaronic) with in the glasses at any given frequency and temperature. Similarly two moreglass series of chemical composition (20 x) LiF 10 Sb2O3 10 B2O3 60P2O5: x CoO and (20 x) LiF 10 Sb2O3 10 B2O3 60P2O5: x NiO are prepared and characterized.
