Abstract: Human Resources are the most vital part of each and every organization. In the banking sector, Human Resources are not important only; even they are expensive and delicate too. Human Resources Management practices have been studied widely among manufacturing, service and small medium enterprises, only a few researchers have paid attention to the banking industry. This study has been designed to make a comparative analysis of Human Resources Management practices such as recruitment, selection, performance appraisal, training and development, employee welfare, employee performance in the public and private sector commercial banks in India. To study these Human Resources Management practices in the commercial banks, primary data has been collected through questionnaire. The Indian banking sector is one of the strongest pillars of the Indian economy. In today s era Indian banking sector has to face a number of challenges due to rapid changing environment and global competition. So that there is need for efficient and effective workforce for the survival. The researcher collected data from two public sector banks (SBI and BOI) and two private sector banks (Axis bank and ICICI bank) from District Aligarh. newline newline newline
