The present study on The Nexus of Hearth, Heath and Heaven in the Selected Novels of Thomas Hardy , studies the bond between human beings, Nature and God. An overview of the Victorian era and the transition towards industrialisation, the role of religion, the major writers of the age and Hardy s place among them, his influences, the outline of his works along with a review of literature are given. The Novels of Character and Environment are taken for study. The Warmth of the Hearth studies the life of the rustics and the outsiders. Hardy s virtuous and rustic characters suffer and the vicious flourish - reflecting the conflict within Hardy himself.
