Abstract: | newlinePresently, the adversities created by chlorofluorocarbons on the environment newlinehave been sending warnings to look for alternative refrigerants that are well suited for newlinecooling and refrigeration. The usage of CFC compounds and their leakage from such newlinerefrigerators have shown adverse impact on the environment which leads to the newlinepromoting the use of non-CFC refrigerant in refrigeration. Absorption cycle is a wellknown technology as it can utilize renewable energy or waste heat sources. The newlinerenewable energy utilization also makes it eco-friendly and emission free cooling newlinetechnology. The absorption unit has no mechanical component, so it is noise free newlinetechnology and reduced emissions, which are responsible for damage in the Ozone newlinelayer. The absorption technology has become an emulative alternative to the newlineconventional refrigeration unit driven mechanically. newlineThe utilization of absorption heat pump cycles has various benefits over the newlinetraditional vapour compression cycles. The absorption cycles can operate in the absence newlineof electric power plant, which is responsible for the emission of pollutants and costly for newlineinstallation. Instead of electric energy to operate refrigeration system, eco friendly newlinerenewable energy and natural fluids are required for cycle operation. Dual absorption newlinerefrigeration system operated with a mechanical solution pump driven by electric power newlinesources. Single pressure absorption cycle removes the necessity electrical power newlineoperated solution pump. This makes them inexpensive, reliable, silent and portable. A newlinesingle pressure absorption cycle was invented by Baltzar Von Platen (1898-1984) and newlineCarl Munters (1897-1989).
