Ocular films of ofloxacin and ketorolac tromethamine were prepared with objectives of newlinereducing the frequency of administration, obtaining controlled release and greater newlinetherapeutic efficacy in the treatment of ophthalmic infections such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, newlinecorneal ulcers, etc. Various formulations were designed of different batches of ocular films newlineas per factorial design study with 0.5% w/v concentration by solvent evaporation method newlinecontaining different combination of polymers such as HPMC K100M, ethyl cellulose, newlinecarbopol934 and PVP K30 with 10% w/w concentration of PEG 400 as plasticizer. newlineThe ocular films were evaluated for physicochemical characteristics, drug excipient newlineinteraction using FTIR and in vitro release study using RP-HPLC method. There was no newlineinteraction between drug and excipients as revealed by IR spectra of the pure drug, newlinemedicated and placebo formulations. All the formulations were subjected to evaluation of newlinethickness, folding endurance, in vitro release study, surface pH, percent water absorption and newlineloss, release kinetics, stability study, sterilization study, ex-vivo evaluation and in-vivo antiinflammatory and antibacterial response using rabbit eye. newline
