Abstract: As technology increases day by day, security has become a serious concern newlinefor performing of authenticated operations in trusted applications, include, newlinee-commerce security, bio-security, radar security and data security in various newlineindustries and private sectors. In order to provide a promising security, newlinebiometric based security is seen as the one of major real time applications. newlineIn addition that face also one of the most important human being s unique newlineimpression biometric and it plays vital role in conveying human identity. newlineHowever, noise is inevitable due to pose variation, low contrasted images, newlineaging and occlusion. In order to overcome the difficulties with face newlinerecognition system, iris based recognition system has been adapted since iris newlineis an organ whose structure remains stable throughout the life span. The newlineprimary motive of this work is to elucidate various technologies related to newlineiris recognition system as well as further requirements associated with newlineenhancement of captured iris images such as inclusion of cryptography for newlineavoiding theft of iris, dark image enhancements, learning based classifier and newlinecompression requirement to save the biometric database. Even though lot of newlinetechniques exploited on preserving iris images, the segmentation of iris has newlinebecome one of the challenging tasks in the biometric authentication system. newlinevi newlineAccordingly the optimal method utilized here for iris segmentation is the newlineHough transform. Since the effectiveness of the segmentation is based on the newlinebest preprocessing technique. Log Gabor filter is used to preprocess the newlinecaptured iris image which is to be enrolled in the biometric data base system newlineconsequently. Wiener filter has been employed with iris recognition system newlineto remove noises on the iris images such as Gaussian noise, salt and newlinepeppernoise, shot noise and quantization noise. Due to illumination problem newlinesome iris images are suffering from low contrast problem which leads to newlinetotal degradation of the iris based recognition system. For overcoming of newlinethis hurdle multi scale mathematical morphology has been incorporated with newlineiris recognition system. After being enrolled the iris images in the iris data newlinebase system, storage has become a serious concern to store the iris image newlinesecurely. Iris data base system and image compression techniques are newlineadapted with the iris recognition system for accessing effective security newlinemechanisms. For providing better security, proposed multi modal security newlineby adding QR code which yields high security. newline newline
