dc.description.abstract | Adaptability is the key for long term sustainability, and to survive we need to adapt ourselves. In the era of globalization, the only thing that is constant is change. The biggest challenges facing developing countries like India is to be able to provide effective and efficient healthcare services. Managing internal and externally generated knowledge is an important requisition so as to provide best medical facilities, encourage innovation and achieve excellence. For effective and efficient working of the healthcare systems, knowledge management plays a pivotal role. There has been a growing modernization and automation in the healthcare sector in India. There has been a sine qua non for growth and gaining competitive advantage. Knowledge Management research can provide immense benefits to an organization. Even though the healthcare sector is rich in knowledge a substantial amount of knowledge is still underutilized. With the sudden upsurge in the way the disease is understood, treated and preventive measures are applied, the healthcare sector is experiencing the need for developing knowledge management practices. Only a resilient organization can ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of its services. The present study has been conducted with an aim to understand the influence of knowledge management and organizational resilience on the healthcare sector. The study was conducted in the states of Himachal, Haryana and Punjab and Union Territories of Chandigarh and Delhi. The sample for the study comprised of doctors, team leaders, pharmacovigilance scientists and functional division executives. The findings of the study highlight that knowledge management and its dimension shave a notable impact on organizational resilience and its dimensions. For effective and efficient running of the healthcare institutions, knowledge management and organizational resilience practices need to be strengthened in organizations. | |
