dc.description.abstractnewline An attempt in present study is made to estimate the reliability and availability of an newlineimportant class of repairable systems wherein the system performance is degradable. As newlinethe number of system components and their failure modes increase, there is an exponential newlineincrease in system states, making the resulting reliability model more difficult to analyze. newlineThe large number of system states makes it difficult to interpret state probabilities, and to newlineconduct sensitivity analyses. In general, it is quite difficult to properly describe the newlinebehavior of complex and non-linear systems by mathematical models. Also, all the real newlineworld s systems possess uncertainties to a large extent and there are other unknown newlinephenomena that cannot be modeled mathematically at all. To handle such issues new newlinetechniques using Markov or Stochastic modeling and fuzzy techniques are applied and the newlinefuzzy reliability and availability of the system has been calculated for different system newlineparameters
