A study on Mathemetical models for various types of cancer treatments

Abstract

General scientific neglect or parochialism about psychosocial factors and newlinethe illness they cause has discouraged the use of descriptive terms and system newlineanalysis. We are only now beginning to realize the relationship of many illnesses newlineto social difficulties and the stress of living in complex and rapidly changing newlinesocieties. Even though human beings vary in their constitutions and behavior; newlinethere is some systematic pattern discernible in the working of the body and newlinemind. newline Modern medical science is based on the former and social science on the newlinelatter. Stress and strain condition predicted by the mathematical formula may not newlinehold in a given engineering situation because of variability in the input factors. newlineIn biological and social sciences, which deal with highly variable objects, newlinemathematical laws provide only a first approximation to reality. In such newlinesituations introducing chance factors or random variables in the model, will newlineimprove it, making it closer to reality. newline A problem of the real world is a problem met by a physicist, an newlineeconomist, an engineer, or indeed any one in their normal working conditions or newlineeveryday life [60]. Mathematics may help to solve the problem. But to apply the newlinemathematics it is often necessary to develop an abstract mathematical problem, newlinecalled a Mathematical model of the original that approximately corresponds to newlinethe real world problem. Developing such a model may involve making newlineassumptions and simplifications. The mathematical problem can be investigated newlineand perhaps solved. When interpreted in terms of the real world, this may newlineprovide an appropriate solution to the original problem. newline The application of mathematics to medicine is an exciting and novel area newlineof research within the discipline of Applied Mathematics. One aspect of this newlineresearch is to create a Mathematical model of various disease processes, taking newlineinto account the interactions between the different components of the complex newlinebiological system that underlies the process [60].
