Abstract

Acne is a disease characterized by inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. The pathogenesis includes various factors like bacterial, hormonal, and immunological, which causes acne lesions. There are number of drugs available for the treatment of Acne lesions, and its scar, but having some side effects. To reduce the side effects some fixed dose combinations of herbal drugs are used to enhance the efficacy and lower side effects. newlineAzadirachta indica Linn leaves, Ocimum basilicum Linn leaves, Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn roots and stolons Boswellia serrata Roxb Oleo gum resin were selected on basis of their traditional claim collected and authenticated as per WHO guidelines. newlineThe air dried powdered leaves of Azadirachta indica extracted with ethanol.Azadirachta indica Ethanolic extract was dissolved in ethanol and water (1:2 v/v) and partitioned with petroleum ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate in 50mL portion for several times till complete extraction takes place.
