The garments made of Khadi fabrics are not too much appreciated and newlinepreferred by new generation as it lack in good feel, look ,texture and fashion newlinedemand. It has poor color fastness, dimensional stability, drapeability and poor newlinehandle. The reason behind is that the Khadi yarns are handmade, having high newlineirregularity and fuzzy appearance. The twist per inch of the yarn is also poor and newlinenon linear. Besides that in handloom weaving, due to hand beating and unequal newlineforces, the texture of the fabric became very poor. It may be observed that there are newlineuneven spaces in between the warp and weft yarns. It deteriorates weave structure, newlinedimensional stability and handle of the fabric. Fabric handle is dependent on several newlineparameters such as fiber and yarn characteristics, fabric construction and finishing newlinetreatments. Though these are the inherent drawbacks of Khadi fabrics because of newlinehand spun yarn and hand woven fabric, however these can be minimized by the newlineapplication of some specialty finishing chemicals which can cover entire yarn and newlinefabric defects. Since Khadi is a unique fabric because of hand spun and hand woven newlineand different Khadi fabrics may not replicate to each other even after having same newlineyarn and fabric parameters. newlineIn the literature review the important views are that Khadi yarn is having newlinehigh irregularity, fuzzy appearance and unevenness which make the fabric of poor newlinehandle, luster and unattractive appearance. The existing manufacturing process of newlineKhadi fabric and chemical treatments are old and conservative. All the researchers newlinehad done work on the application of different softeners on cotton fabrics and their newlineblends. The application of nano silicone emulsion on Khadi fabric is newer. The newlineimperfections of the Khadi fabrics and yarn are significantly decreased after the newlineapplication of nano emulsions. The hand value of the fabric is improved, besides that newlinesoftness is the major improvement. The variations in Khadi fabrics are reduced. The newlineapplication of enzyme before nano silicone treatment further enhances the
