The usefulness of wireless communication medium and need for quick establishment of network newlineduring the emergency situations and situations when establishing the wired network is not viable newlineeconomically or not possible due to lack of infrastructural support or lack of time has given a newlinethrust to research in the field of wireless networks. Ad hoc wireless networks are intended to newlinefulfill the demand of short time deployment, short lived networks of mobile devices. Nodes in ad newlinehoc wireless networks work both as router as well as end terminals. newlineRouting is an essential and significant part of any network it is the process of route establishment newlinebefore data packets could start flowing from a source node to a destination node. For wired newlinenetworks since the nodes positions are fixed it is a easier job as locations do not change only newlineroute computations are to be done whenever data exchange is to be done. Wireless ad hoc newlinenetworks have mobile nodes therefore it is a tedious job and above that due to the broadcast newlinenature of communication between nodes the vulnerability of ad hoc networks towards security newlineattacks is high. newlineThe line of action to protect ad hoc networks from security attacks has been to detect intrusion of newlinevindictive nodes in the network. Security attacks can be from within the network when a member newlinenode starts behaving maliciously or attack can be from an illegitimate node. newline
