Abstract: As per recent studies, there is huge un-employability problem among the fresh engineering graduates in whole India and reasons for this is lack of employability skills in them. Apart from other resources, the responsibility of generating employability skills among the fresh engineering graduates is on human resource of these engineering institutions i.e. faculty members teaching them. Due to fast changes occurring in industry, these faculty members also need to keep on updating themselves so that in turn can teach the students recent contents and with latest pedagogy. Research studies highlighted that the teachers are lacking on various aspects related to learning and research like publication of research paper in standard journal, attending relevant workshop, visiting industry, having patent, enrolment for Ph.D. etc. If these faculty members are not developing themselves then it is the duty of engineering colleges to establish a system for continuous development of their human resource i.e. faculty members. There are various human resource (HR) practices which are applied for development of human resource. The two main HR practices responsible for development of human resource are training and development (TD) and knowledge management (KM). The training needs are identified by performance appraisal (PA) practice as this plays indirect but must role in human resource development. It can be said that if the faculty members are poor on quality then the application of these HR practices will develop them. But it is not known to the researcher whether these HR practices are applied in these engineering institutions or not. This study is carried in private engineering institutions affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University. This study is focused on finding the status of application of the HR practices namely Performance Appraisal, Training and Development and Knowledge Management in these engineering institutions. newlineThe population for the current study includes all the faculty members of the engineeri
