Abstract: | The origin of the axiom pyrimidine years back to 1884, when Pinner lay newlineclaimed to the term from a blend of the words pyridine and amidine owing to the newlinestructural resemblance to these compounds. Since the preliminary explorations, newlinehundreds of pyrimidine-includeing compounds have been found in biochemistry1-25. newlineThe frequent modifications upon this gallows and its comparative consequence in newlinenature made it an appealing vicinity of study. newlinePyrimidine is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound analogous to benzene newlineand pyridine, enclosing two nitrogen atoms at positions 1 and 3 of the six-member newlinering and is isomeric with two other forms of diazine as shown below. newlinePyrimidines compounds composed of nitrogen and carbon. They are present newlinethroughout nature in various forms and are the building blocks of numerous natural newlinecompounds from antibiotics to vitamins and liposacharides. The most commonly newlinerecognized pyrimidines are the bases of RNA and DNA, the most abundant being newlinecytosine, thymine or uracil. newlineVarious techniques are used to characterize synthesized materials. Among newlinethem, X-ray powder diffraction, Adsorption measurements, Scanning electron newlinemicroscopy (SEM) are the indispensable ones to recognize the configuration of the newlinemesoporous molecular sieves U.V. spectroscopy and Infrared spectroscopy have also newlinebeen applied to obtain additional structural information about molecular sieves. TGDTA newlineis performed to examine the thermal stability of the synthesized material. newlineAbstract newlineABSTRACT: CHAPTER: II newlineThis chapter deals with the synthesis of pyrimidine from C-C-C and N-C-N newlinefragments. This category is the most functional and extensively used for the building a newlinepyrimidine ring from non-heterocyclic precursors. It engrosses the condensation of an newlineguanidine, urea, amidine, thiourea or else their derivatives with 1,3-bifunctional threecarbon newlinefragment. As well as Synthesis of pyrimidine from C-C-C-N and C-N newlinefragments Ketenethioacetal was reacted with acetamide in the presence of sodium newlinehydride in a mixture of benzene and DMA to give inte |
