Abstract: | This thesis discusses the theoretical as well as numerical solutions newlineof chemical reaction effects on free convective flow past an impulsively newlinestarted infinite vertical plate or semiinfinite vertical plate with newlinewithout magnetic field or thermal radiation for different boundary conditions newlineInitially the plate and fluid are of the same temperature and newlineConcentration As time increases the plate is given an impulsive motion in the newlinevertical direction against gravitational field with constant velocity in a fluid newlineThe temperature of the plate and the concentration of the diffusing species newlinenear the plate are raised resulting in the natural convection newlineThe theoretical solution of the first order chemical reaction effects newlineon flow past an impulsively started infinite vertical plate in the presence of newlinetransverse applied magnetic field with without thermal radiation with newlinevariable temperature and concentration has been studied The governing newlineequations of free convection are simplified by invoking the boundary layer at newlineBoussinseqapproximations The governing equations are transformed into newlinedimensionless form by using suitable nondimensional quantities The newlinedimensionless governing equations are solved using the Laplace transform newlinetechnique newlineThe velocity temperature and concentration fields in the transient newlineand steadystate are studied for different parameters like chemical reaction newlineparameter magnetic field parameter radiation parameter and time presented newlinein the form of graphs and tables newline newline |
