Abstract: INTRODUCTION newlineIn developing economics like India which is characterized by multidimensional poverty, and high newlinepropensity to consume, by and large, low savings are available for capital formation. At the same newlinetime, these nations depend heavily on imports, especially capital and technology for their economic newlinegrowth. In such circumstances, foreign capital has emerged as major source of finance for such newlinecountries. Among these external sources of finance, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has emerged newlineand played an important role in the process of economic growth. newline
