Abstract: Literature review newlineand#61623; Literature review was done thoroughly to understand the properties, reaction newlinemechanism and applications of and#946;-amylase enzyme. newlineAn antioxidant rich novel and#946;-amylase from peanuts (Arachis hypogaea): its newlinepurification, biochemical characterization and potential applications newlineand#61623; A and#946;-amylase from ungerminated peanut seeds was purified to apparent newlineelectrophoretic homogeneity. The enzyme was purified 205 fold with specific newlineactivity of 361 units/mg. newlineand#61623; Mr of the denatured enzyme was determined to be 31 kDa from SDS-PAGE newlinewhile native enzyme displayed 30 kDa from size exclusion chromatography newlineby FPLC on Superdex-200 column. newline
