dc.description.abstract | Simple synthesis protocol of enhanced DNA targeting metal complexes and controlled drug delivery systems may provide a great contribution to improve in vivo efficacy of anticancer drugs by circumventing the clinical problems. In this work, we designed and produced natural anticancer agent derived metal complexes, natural polymer blended magnetic hydrogel beads and biosurfactant decorated, lipophilic natural anticancer drug loaded, biogenically synthesized magnetic iron oxide based aqueous soluble nanocages for an advanced drug delivery as well as chemotherapy. The functionalization of prepared materials was studied using various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques. According to results, complex 1 has significant DNA as well as serum albumin targeting ability along with high cytotoxicity. The prepared magnetic hydrogel beads showed superior controlled drug (and nano drug) delivery efficacy. The nanocages displayed high lipophilic drug loading efficiency and high controlled pH responsive drug release at cancerous cells pH medium. Additionally, these nanocages exhibited great chemotherapeutic efficacy, when examined in cancer cell lines and the specific targeting capacity could be attributed by fluorescent cell imaging studies. Therefore, this study provides a new platform to the magnetically targeted pH responsive anticancer drug delivery newline | |
