Abstract: In Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), load balancing is the predominant issue that needs to be considered for reducing the congestion rate of packets. The processing potential determines the degree of packet forwarding that could be rendered by each mobile node of the network during cooperative data dissemination. This packet processing potential is also necessary for discriminating mobile nodes in order to distribute the packets among them in an effective and efficient manner such that the lower potential nodes are not heavily loaded. Initially, the majority of the load balancing schemes were proposed based on the shortest path metric. However, the shortest path-based load balancing schemes were identified with the drawback of increased network overhead due to the high number of retransmissions. But, queueing schemes are potent when the possible states of network queues are investigated with characteristic features that examine the past, present and future dimensions of their state transition. Hence, three queue-based load balancing schemes are proposed for handling the packet load of the network by analyzing the characteristics of the policing queue based on its past, present and future perspectives on state transition. This research also focuses on the formulation of context sensitive queue-inspired framework that efficiently estimates and performs the act of load balancing in the network. Initially, Reliable Load Balancing Scheme Based on Engset Loss Formula (RLBSEL) is proposed as a novel scheme for flexibly adapting the rate of load balancing in the network by considering the past behavioural characteristics of the queue transition into consideration newline
