1. The formula Ksheera kalpana begins with the word Ksheera may be due to the presence of large quantity of Milk in the formulae. newline2. Ksheer paka is one of the most important and unique preparation of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutics. There is no evidence available regarding such preparations in the Modern Pharmaceutics. newline3. In fact through this preparation, active principles of drug is transferred into milk. newline4. Charaka has mentioned 22 Ksheer paka formulations, where as Sushruta 21, Kasyap 15, Astanga Samgraha 41, Chakara Dutta 39, Vanga Sena 5, Sharangadhara 3, Gadanighrah 5, Bhava Prakash 31, Yoga ratnakar 31, Bhrhat Nighantu Ratnakar 1, Ksheer Paka Kalpanas have been mentioned. newline5. Sushruta has mentioned six forms (shadvidha kalpana) i.e. - Kshíra, Rasa, Kalka, Kashaya, Shita and Chúrna. Thus it is obvious that Ksheera kalpana is original kalpana referred in Sushruta Samhita. newline6. There are 101 Ksheera paka formulations found in Ayurveda. newline7.
