Abstract: Huge amount of digital visual data are shared on different media and exchanged over newlinevarious sorts of networks nowadays. Often, these visual data contain private or newlineconfidential information or are associated with financial interests. As a consequence, newlinetechniques are required to provide security functionalities like privacy, integrity, or newlineauthentication especially suited for the data type. A relatively new field, denoted newline Image Encryption , is aiming towards this emerging technologies and applications. newlineHowever, due to the intrinsic characters of image such as bulk data capacity and high newlineredundancy, encryption of which needs its own special requirements. newlineIn order to fulfill the requirements, many encryption techniques have been proposed newlineand analyzed as possible solution, but they do not satisfy the requirements of the newlinemodern cryptographic mechanism due to their proneness to various attacks. newlineIn this thesis, a novel Non Linear Forward Feedback Shift Register, Elliptic Curve newlineover binary fields and Quasi Pseudo Random Sequence based Genetic algorithm for newlinedata encryption has been proposed. By combining the spatial domain encryption of newlinedigital image and a new pseudo random generator, the security of encryption scheme newlinehas been enhanced effectively in the present work. Instead of encrypting an image in a newlinechaotic signal directly, the proposed scheme uses multi-chaotic systems to achieve newlinehigher level of secrecy. Three of the chaotic systems are used to generate a pseudo newlinerandom sequence as symmetric key, which is better than the existing ones. The other newlinechaotic system is used for encryption purpose. The encryption by this method is such newlinethat the real time signal can be transformed into completely disordered data. The newlinesecurity of encryption scheme has been analyzed along with its comparison with the newlineexisting techniques in detail. newlineThe proposed algorithm possesses interesting features like, having high level of newlinesecurity, smaller key size enabling, faster implementation; having larger key space. newlineAll the three chaotic schemes used
