dc.description.abstract | Memory is one of the higher cognitive functions of the brain. It enables us to encode newlineand recall infinite information and experiences throughout life. However, this crucial newlineprocess of memory is vulnerable to a variety of factors such as neurodegenerative newlinedisorders, cardiovascular diseases as well as physiological state of brain ageing. Such newlineloss of memory or amnesia has physical, psychological, social and economic impact newlineon caregivers, families and society. Currently, there is no cure for amnesia or newlinetreatment to alter its progressive course and thus appropriate remediation strategies newlinefor amnesia are still undefined. Therefore, knowledge of the molecular mechanism newlinethat regulates the process of learning and memory is essential to understand the newlineetiology of amnesia as well as to develop recovery approaches. | |
