Abstract: | Knowledge management KM in health care is progressing; the complexity and challenges facing the health care sector can be addressed by adopting KM strategies The use of KM in health care is promising to enhance the quality of care for patients by providing them with a continuity of care It is a long term sustainable commitment to change the culture of health care to become more collaborative more transparent and more proactive Knowledge management implemented well will transform the health care delivery system over the next few decades into a more cost effective error averse and accountable public resource The field of knowledge management has tremendous application and value to the health care industry particularly for hospitals and hospital systems For many who have invested in a knowledge management infrastructure it has become the measure of the value of belonging to a hospital system or membership organization The healthcare sectors dominant objectives are to offer error free flawless services to their patients and clients because of the unique nature among the service industries For the healthcare sector it is not an option or a rule to maintain and uphold the level of service that is typical as well as standard in the service industries newline |
