Abstract: The development of resistance in pathogenic microbes due to the increased use of newlineantibiotics is a great concern. As a result, the continuous and urgent need to discover new newlineantibacterial compounds with diverse chemical structures and novel mechanisms of action newlinepresently exists. In the present study, a large scale screening of selected medicinal plants for in newlinevitro antibacterial activity against NDM-1 Escherichia coli was carried out. The streak plate newlinemethod was used to screen for antibacterial activity in ethanol extracts from the leaves of 240 newlinetaxonomically diverse medicinal plants consisting of 183 genera and 75 families newline
