Abstract: | In recent times, the traditional medicine/drugs from plant origin have been gaining much importance. It is estimated that about 25% of all modern medicines are directly or indirectly derived from plants. During the past few decades numerous studies have reported the potential plant origin drugs obtained from different parts such as root, stem, bark, latex, leaves, flower, fruit pulp and seeds for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In this point view, bitter gourd is the highly sight seen plant for the medicinal applications. Although, bitter gourd seeds are the store house of bioactive proteins/enzymes/peptides/lectins/secondary metabolites/lipids their role in thrombosis was least explored. newline |
