Abstract: | The work presented in this thesis is focused on the development of efficient Maximum Power Point Tracking schemes exploiting the soft computing techniques Maximum power point tracking is the operation carried out by a power converter such that the renewable energy that is available from the basic power conversion unit such as the Solar Photovoltaic Panel System could be harvested to the fullest available level at any moment As and when the solar insolation changes or the ambient temperature changes the possible power generation by the basic solar photovoltaic panel also changes and accordingly the further power conversion system attached to the primary source is also to be manipulated so that the maximum available power at the moment is harvested into the load or the storage element if any Since a long time now Maximum power point tracking has been achieved by many algorithms like the P and O algorithm the Incremental Conductance algorithm and the sliding mode controller Besides there had been a number of power electronic converter topologies used in the power conversion chain of solar power harvesting schemes different topologies present diversified advantages and disadvantages. newline |
