Abstract: | In the present world electronic components play a vital role in human lifes the demand on miniaturization and multi functionality of electronic components is accompanied by an increased heat flux the heat generated by these electronic components is not uniform it may occur periodically or during an erratic working conditions the excess heat must be dissipated to prevent the deterioration of performance and to reduce premature failure different approaches have been proposed and developed for thermal protection of high power electronic components with the help of active passive thermal management systems heat sink based passive thermal management systems are most commonly used for dissipating heat from the electronic components the conventional cooling methods are inefficient to manage the uneven workload of the system most of the heat sinks are designed to operate in normal loading condition rather than the peak load the availability of ample space to place the heat sinks adjacent to heat dissipating components is becoming more scarce designers are constantly striving hard to find an innovative heat sink technology to meet the cooling demands. |
