Abstract: | Space cooling is one of the highest energy consuming sectors in comparison to other applications Cooling load requirements are always in phase with the solar heat energy Hence this work focuses on the determination of the most appropriate and efficient comfort space cooling technology that offers the advantage of both energy and environmental benefits There are two type of cooling technologies such as Vapour newlineCompression Cooling Systems VCCS and Vapour Absorption Cooling Systems VACS Among these VACS runs on low grade energy such as solar heat energy which is renewable and has no global warming consequence Working fluid pairs used in these systems are natural materials which have no ozone depleting potential But its performance is comparatively lower and bulkier in size when compared to the VCCS newlineThough VACS has the few drawbacks it is an attractive viable option from energy and environmental perspective Since the objective is focussed on space cooling applications rather than refrigeration applications the present research considers H2O LiBr and water allied mixtures as refrigerant and absorbent combinations. newline newline |
