dc.description.abstractDue to the tight coupling of control plane and data plane inside proprietary hardware traditional newlinenetworks are suffering from multiple disadvantages. One of the biggest challenges is security. newlineNowadays there are many network threats and attacks available. DDoS attacks are one of the most newlinepopular and disruptive attack among all. Despite the large number of traditional mitigation newlinesolutions that exists today, DDoS attacks continue to grow in frequency, volume, and severity. newlineThis call for a new network paradigm to address the requirements of today s challenging security newlinethreats. In order to meet the real time, need of the exponential big giant network, SDN has come newlineinto existence. There are many advantages of SDN such as easy manageability, scalability, agility newlinebut security is one of the prominent advantages. SDS can be defined as a model in which newlineimplementation of the new security policies in the computing environment is achieved through newlinesecured software. newline
