Energy and environmental sustainability is the growing concerns, which has newlineignited the interest of world for more competent transportation systems and industrial newlineperformances. Friction is responsible for the loss of one-fifth of the all energy newlineresources worldwide. The researchers are working upon finding new lubricants and newlineadditive to improve the wear resistance of the lubricated rubbing surfaces of newlinematerials. Research have led to the discovering of new materials that can be used as newlineadditives in lubricants. The nano particles additives in the lubricating oils have been newlinealso investigated. These nano additives in the colloidal form act as anti-wear, extreme newlinepressure and friction modifier in the lubricants when used with proper surfactants. In newlinethis study, nano fly ash particles were used as an additive in SAE 10W-30 lubricant newlineoil to investigate the tribological properties of AISI 4140 steel using an indigenously newlinedeveloped pin on disc wear testing setup. newline
