Abstract: | This present thesis investigates the most crucial characteristics of BiFeO3 and its doped systems The fractional substitution in A site of ABO3 systems with isovalent and or aliovalentions is anticipated to enhance the properties of multiferroics at room temperature newlineMultiferroics attracts researchers because of the number of ferroic orderings in the single phase This synchronization is useful in functional device applications Here ABO3 type perovskite oxides are primarily focussed on multiferroic studies Bismuth ferrite is identified as one such familiar multiferroic material having ABO3 arrangement to possess antiferromagnetic TN 643 K and ferroelectric orderings Tc 1103 K Here this system is considered for detailed studies and prepared by customary solid state route BiFeO3 possesses R3c phase with trivial secondary phases Bi2Fe4O9 and Bi25FeO40 The Rietveld refinement shows predominantly about 85 R3c phase which is supposed to be the primary phase Uncompensated charges and deficiency in oxygen ions lead to reduced relative permittivity values at 1 MHz The maximum polarization and magnetization are observed to be 6 93 nC cm2 and 0 088 emu g respectively at room temperature newline newline |
