dc.description.abstractIn this work the applications of the wireless sensor network for the agricultural purposes and also for harvesting of solar power at remote places for use in agricultural systems have been elaborated The wireless sensor network is a network of sensors that collect and send the critical data that are vital for the efficient management of any system The central controller is responsible for the efficient operation of the system The data collected from the sensors are transmitted to the central control station and the instruction from the central control station are newlinecommunicated to the site of the system, from where the data had been received newlineData collection from sensors can also be accomplished by wired networks of sensors but there are many disadvantages like cumbersome wiring and the development of associated data noise and spurious signals The wireless sensors network is reliable newlineIn this research two different case studies have been carried out The first one is the development of an automated watering system for a Coriander field Coriander is a plant used in most Asian countries as an important ingredient in food processing It has certain unique medicinal effects and it has become inevitable in the South Indian cooking styles The Coriander plant is a sensitive plant as well If it is subjected to newlineplenty of water than the optimally required quantity, the plant gets decayed If the plant is left with insufficient water it becomes dry and withered quickly. newline newline
