Abstract: | All investors are rational investors, especially professionally educated; hence they newlineought to follow investment science. Behavioural Finance, as a science has identified many newlinebiases. It is obvious that, any professionally educated investors will also have biases. But newlinethese two statements are contradictory newlineThat is why, a study is needed to understand the behaviour of professionally educated newlineinvestors and evaluate whether they are always rational or they bound by behavioural biases. newlineAs the study is time specific, geographical limitation is added and South Tamil Nadu newlinecomprising of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivaganga, newlineRamanathapuram, Dindigul and Theni districts was selected as a area of study. newlineThe professionally educated investors is operationally defined as a person who is newlinequalified to be professional in the fields of Doctor, Engineer, Teacher, Lawyer , Auditor and newlinealso invest in capital market instruments for a continuous periods of atleast 1.5 years. newlineFor this study the researcher has considered the HNI Professionals of South Tamil newlineNadu. The investors consider their investment needs, goals, objectives and constraints in newlinemaking investment decisions, but it is not possible to make a successful investment decision newlineat all times. It to be noted that there are many studies conducted in different countries newlineincluding India, but to the best of the researcher s knowledge, a comprehensive study newlinecovering South Tamil Nadu has not been made. Hence, this study attempts to find out the newlinefactors influencing the stock selection decision of educationally Professionals of South Tamil newlineNadu and to study the attitude and perception of selected HNI professionals in South Tamil newlineNadu. newline |
