Abstract: Present work addresses day to day problem faced by all the industries like newlinepetroleum industries, mining industries and thermal power plant. These newlineindustries use simple as well as complex pipeline structure along with centrifugal newlinepumps for the transportation of slurry and these slurry transportation equipments newlineget deteriorated by various types of deformation like bending of impeller blades newlineand erosion wear on wall surfaces. While designing slurry transportation system, newlineerosion wear is taken under consideration because it directly affects the financial newlineaspect of slurry transportation system. Erosion wear is a major challenge for all newlineslurry handling devices like pipes and pumps because it gradually decreases the newlineservice period of these devices. Present work is focusing on erosion wear which newlinemostly occur due to high velocity and low impact angle during transportation of newlineslurry. Slurry mixture impeller, among various slurry handling equipments, is a newlinerotating device that mixes ash (solid) and water (liquid) in the hydraulic newlinetransportation system. In which the lifting of liquids/slurry enables from the low newlinelevel to high level by generated dynamic pressure in it. Hydraulic (Slurry) newlinetransportation get affected by the impeller deformation. It becomes risky to newlineoperate the slurry system because the material gets eroded due to erosion and newlinecorrosion in running condition. Coal and ash are the solid particle mainly present newlinein slurry in thermal power plant. CFD analysis has carried out on the newlineperformance of slurry mixture blade and computational investigation has been newlineconducted on blades. In the present study, analysis has been done with two newlinedifferent materials namely grey cast iron and nickel. The pressure was compared newlinebetween these two materials and results suggest that which material is good for newlineimpeller blades. The slurry impeller has been modeled using CREO software and newlineCFD analysis has done by using ANSYS software. A k-and#603; turbulence model is newlineused in CFD analysis. The model is developed with actual geometric parameters. newline
