Synthesis Spectral and Structural Aspects of Some Transition Metal Complexes Based on N O Donor Ligands and Their Applications

Abstract

This thesis presents the outcome of investigations on synthesis, characterization, newlinereactivity and properties of the transition metal complexes containing N,Oand#61485;and#61472;donor salen newlineand and#61538;and#61485;ketoaminato ligands. The structural, optical and electrochemical behaviour of these newlineligands and complexes have been examined and discussed in detail. Moreover, these newlinecomplexes have been demonstrated as photoswitching material, supramolecular hosts for newlineATP/ADP and selective receptors for picric acid. In addition, synthesis of tetranuclear newlinecopper cubanes from the reaction of hydrated copper(II) salts/precursors with mono- and newlinebis- and#61538;and#61485;ketoaminato ligands via unprecedented Cand#61485;O bond formation cum dearomatization newlineof ligand have also been described.
