Abstract: | Over the years, many researchers have carried out studies on Comfort newlinelevels of occupants as well as the operators of vehicles. Main focus in all such newlinestudies is made on suspension system of vehicle, as it is well known that vehicle newlinesuspension system is meant to ensure comfort of operator and occupant of vehicle. newlineThis is also supported by the views of many researchers in this area. It is also a fact newlinethat Military vehicles do not generally aim at ride comfort as in passenger vehicles. newlineHowever, knowledge of ride quality will become part of design of Military vehicles newlinealso. Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV), a widely used Military vehicle is newlineconsidered as the war winning asset of Army. The operator and crew of AFV are newlinesubjected to severe jostling, vibrations and impacts during their journey, due to newlinewhich they suffer from physical discomfort. As the mechanical stresses being newlineexperienced by the body, the vehicle operator has difficulty in controlling the newlinevehicle and his vision becomes impaired. Thus the physiological tolerance levels of newlinethe human occupant make the Military vehicle designer to very much compromise in newlinethe design of maximum mobility of vehicle, which is his ultimate goal. The newlineaccelerations and vibrations experienced by the vehicle occupants lead to health newlinehazards. Exposure to these stresses might occur under many situations newline |
