Self Compacting Lightweight Concrete using Coconut Shell Aggregate for Rural Application

Abstract

The focus of this research is to evaluate the viability and properties of newlinecoconut shell when used as alternative to coarse aggregate in the production of selfcompacting newlinelightweight concrete (SCLWC). The problem statement and aim for this newlinestudy is development of a workable mix of self-compacting coconut shell concrete newline(SCCSC), study its mechanical, durability, microstructural properties and analysis of newlinethe flexural and shear strength of SCCSC beams. newlineTo study the development mix design of self-compacting lightweight newlineconcrete using coconut shell in meeting workability and strength, EFNARC newlineguidelines were followed. On the selected mixes which meets both workability and newlineproduces the strength, some of the other mechanical performances and then some newlinedurability properties were conducted.
