Abstract: | Medical science around the globe has made implausible advances in the last newlinecentury. In spite of advancement in technology and medical practices, it is unable to newlineprovide the quality health care to all. Skin injuries are caused mainly due to fire, accidents, newlineand surgeries. The common factors which delay wound healing are genetic disorder, newlineautoimmune diseases, ageing, malnutrition, comorbidities, and infections. The over usage newlineof standard antibiotics, not limited to bacteria developing resistance, but also leads to newlineplethora of side effects eventually causing life-threatening conditions. newlineElectrospun micro / nano fibrous mats have materialised the field of bio newlinenanotechnology. Many researchers have utilized electrospun mats as wound dressing newlinematerials, but they are more prone to pathogenic microorganism colonization which newlinebecomes a serious problem for public health. In India, herbal based medicine have been newlinein practice for treating various ailments from ancient times. Several evidences indicated newlinethat herbal based medicine were practiced in India as early as 2500 BC newline |
